The woman's motel stay in the Belden Village area results in a new room — at the county jail.

PLAIN TWP.  Stark County Sheriff's deputies believe a sobbing Summit County woman was intoxicated when she knocked on the door next to hers inside a township motel shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The Texas man who opened the door then called deputies, concerned.

"She was very intoxicated and she was crying," said Maj. C.J. Stantz.

A short time later, she was booked into the Stark County Jail, accused of kicking at deputies as they attempted to place her into a police cruiser.

Deputies and township firefighters had been summoned to the motel on Convenience Circle NW, where the woman, identified as Amanda E. Moon, 28, of Akron, went from crying to yelling and screaming.

Jail records said she refused multiple police attempts to her get medical treatment.

Increasingly disturbed, she was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge.

But, deputies said, she resisted arrest and tried to kick them as they tried to place her into the back of a cruiser.

Moon was jailed on a felony attempted assault charge as well as charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

She remained in the jail early Thursday, held in lieu of $50,500 bond pending a court hearing.
