A 23-year-old who last known address was in Akron is wanted on charges stemming from the 2017 overdose death of a another man in the parking lot of Taco Bell, 3333 Manchester Road, in Coventry Township.
On June 4, 2017, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Coventry Fire Department responded to the Taco Bell in regard to an unresponsive male. When they arrived, they found a 31 year old male in the parking lot. The male was treated on scene for a drug overdose and later transported to Barberton Hospital, where he later died. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the man died as a result of a Carfentanil/methamphetamine overdose.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted a yearlong investigation into his death and concluded that Amar Ellies provided the man with drugs prior to his death.
On July 5, 2018, arrest warrants were issued for Amar Ellies for involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony.
