Police arrested two men for disorderly conduct at a Dressler Road bar on June 24. A 30-year-old Alliance man was hauled off to jail after he ignored officers’ repeated warnings to stop his turbulent behavior. Employees said the heavily intoxicated man threatened other patrons and tried to start fights. A 32-year-old Hartville man was charged after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his car in the parking lot.

On June 23, police charged a Texas man with disorderly conduct after finding him passed out in his truck on Belden Village Street. He refused to call for a ride and couldn’t take care of himself due to his intoxication, so he was taken to the Stark County Jail.

Police responded to a rash of vehicle break-ins at a Whipple Avenue physical fitness center the week of June 17. On June 20, a Uniontown woman and a Massillon woman reported their purses were stolen after someone smashed windows on their vehicles to gain entry. On June 22, two other vehicles were broken into at the location. Purses were also reported taken in those incidents.

On June 22, a Uniontown woman told police a person threatened her during a dispute over a parking space at a Strip Avenue supermarket. She gave police a description of the suspect and a license plate number, but police said the number did not match the vehicle with the suspect. The woman did not wish to pursue the matter and the case was closed.

A Cleveland man, 37, was charged with theft June 22 after he was accused of leaving an Everhard Road store with $134 in merchandise without paying. He was issued a court summons and released.

Police are looking for two women who reportedly left a store in the Belden Village Mall on June 21 with stolen merchandise valued between $1,000 and $1,200.

A man working as a counter clerk at a Fulton Drive pizza shop told police on June 21 that he was physically assaulted by the manager. Police were investigating.

A Marsh Avenue woman told police June 21 that someone used her personal information to open a utility account in New York.

A Portage Street man, 32, was arrested at his home on June 20 on warrants charging him with robbery and domestic violence. He was transported to the Stark County Jail. On the same day, a Canton man was arrested at his home on a North Canton warrant for criminal trespass and released to police in that jurisdiction.

A Barberton couple reported their vehicle was broken into while it was parked at a residential facility on 22nd Street Northwest June 20. A purse containing jewelry, credit cards and other items was taken.

Someone entered an unlocked barn on Skycrest Drive June 20 and stole garden tools worth $125.

On June 19, a Chillingsworth Circle man told police he was swindled out of $75,000 after investing in a fraudulent stock trade company online.

A man, 24, with no permanent address, was arrested June 19 on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic violation. The arrest was made during a traffic stop on Portage Street. In addition, police charged him with possession of drug abuse instruments after finding two syringes and a glass pipe on him.

The owner of a Freedom Avenue business reported scrap parts were stolen from his property sometime between June 18 and 19.

A Canton man, 40, was arrested on June 18 after police found him passed out in his car with the engine running on Portage Street Northwest near the I-77 Interstate ramp. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

A Shady Hollow Road woman reported June 18 that someone used her credit card number to make several unauthorized purchases.
