Nealy 700 students participated in a variety of athletic events during the 33rd annual Stark County Exceptional Olympics on Friday.
PERRY TWP. More than 650 exceptional Stark County-area students took center stage Friday morning at the 33rd annual Stark County Exceptional Olympics at Perry High School's football stadium and at the high school.
Students of all ages from 20 school districts including Dalton Local, Fairless Local, Jackson Local, Massillon City, Northwest Local, Louisville City, Green Local, Canton City and Canton Local, and Stark County Developmental Disabilities participated in a number of field events such as Frisbee and football toss, 50-yard dash, bowling, obstacle courses and more.
The annual event is a collaboration between the Stark County Educational Service Center and member districts.
Participants were treated to lunch and earned T-shirts and medals for their participation.
