- Police arrested two people on outstanding warrants April 2. A homeless man, 23, was picked up at a Sunset Strip Avenue motel on a warrant for a probation violation. A Mayfield Heights woman, 25, was arrested in Canton on a felony theft warrant and turned over to Jackson Township police. Both individuals were booked into the Stark County Jail.

- A Daphne Circle woman told police April 2 she was missing a gold necklace worth more than $2,000 but was unsure where she lost it.

- A Gale Avenue man, 58, was arrested April 1 on a felonious assault charge stemming from an incident that occurred the day before at a Wales Avenue Northwest home.

- On March 31, police responded to a call of a broken down car at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Road and Arlington Avenue. The responding officer noticed the male driver had marijuana on his pants and could smell the drug inside his car. A baggie of the drug was found in the center console. The 23-year-old man was charged possession of drugs and released with a court summons.

- Police were called to the Belden Village Mall on March 31 to investigate a disturbance between a mall security officer and a customer. Officers interviewed several witnesses at the scene who offered conflicting statements. The security officer and customer both wanted to pursue charges. A report of the incident was sent to the prosecutor’s office for review of possible charges.

- A Canton man, 58, was charged March 31 with domestic violence. Police said he forced his way into his daughter’s South Boulevard apartment, grabbed her keys and belongings and walked out the door. When the daughter tried to stop him, he pushed her, causing her arm to go through a window on the outside door. He then threatened to kill her, police said.

- A Coldwater Avenue couple reported March 31 that someone stole two bags containing personal items from their unlocked vehicles. The items were valued at more than $800. On the same day, an employee at a Dressler Road restaurant reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and took a cellphone charger and $6 in loose change.

- An Alliance man, 50, was charged with theft March 31 after he was accused of leaving a Strip Avenue supermarket with $125 worth of groceries without paying. The man ran off when confronted in the parking lot but was arrested soon after when he returned to his vehicle.

- Police were seeking a warrant for a man who was identified shoplifting Nike clothing from a store in the Belden Village Mall on March 31.

- A Uniontown man, 41, was charged with theft March 31 at a Mega Street department store. Security personnel told police the man took an item off the shelf and returned it to customer service for a cash refund of $37.88.

- On March 30, a Fulton Drive business owner reported someone stole the front and rear license plates from his pickup truck.

- Jewelry valued at $9,300, $500 in antique silver coins, personal documents, a safe and other items were reported stolen March 30 from a home in the 8100 block of Lutz Avenue Northwest. The victims later learned their personal information was used to open several credit card accounts. The victims gave police the name of a possible suspect who they believe started removing items from the home in January.

- On March 29, a Cambridge Avenue couple reported someone stole a debit card from their home and used it to make several unauthorized purchases.

- A New Philadelphia man, 20, was arrested March 29 on a fifth-degree felony count of receiving stolen property after police said they found him with two stolen credit cards at a Sunset Strip Avenue motel. During the same incident, an East Sparta man, 22, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and receiving stolen property, all misdemeanors. Police said they found hypodermic needles and a drug pipe in his backpack. They also found him with a wallet belonging to another person.

- Police were called to investigate a stolen vehicle at a Dressler Road auto repair shop on March 29. It was determined the vehicle had been repossessed.

- An East Boulevard woman reported March 29 that someone made an unauthorized charge of $454.36 on her credit card at a Verizon store in Shaker Heights. 

- Someone entered an unoccupied home in the 3900 block of Zink Drive Northwest March 29 and stole nearly $8,000 in jewelry and a container with $5,000 worth of coins. Police found no signs of forced entry.

- On March 28, police filed a report of a theft and vandalism incident at the Armed Forces Career Center on Whipple Avenue. Someone punctured a vehicle’s gas tank in the parking lot and stole an unknown amount of gas.

- A Colorado man, 33, was charged March 28 with criminal trespass. Police were called to an Excel Street business after a witness reported seeing the man getting into a pickup truck that did not belong to him. The man said he did not take anything and did not know why he entered the vehicle.

- An Andette Avenue woman was arrested for domestic violence March 27. Her boyfriend told police the woman came behind him on a staircase and started choking him while he was holding their 2-year-old child. She was booked into the Stark County Jail.

- A Canton man reported his daughter’s $700 cellphone was stolen while she was attending a track event at Jackson High School on March 27.
