NORTH CANTON  The North Canton Chamber of Commerce awarded the business of the year and others during its annual awards luncheon on March 22. The event had a packed room in the Barrette Business Center at Walsh University.

"We’re honored to have past Congressman Pat Tiberi with us today as our keynote speaker," said Chamber President Doug Lane. "He’s the President and CEO of the Ohio Business Round Table. In addition to speaking to our members, he also took time out to speak with Walsh students this morning in the new Renacci Center at Walsh."

Members enjoyed networking and lunch before the awards were given. Lane kicked off the awards portion where he and other chamber members announced the following awards:

Business of the Year: Sanctuary Grande/Danbury Senior Living

Community Investment Award: St. Paul Catholic Parish for the new parking lot and Walthers Twin Tavern

Community Service: North Canton Public Library

Community Leader Award: Rick McQueen

Pillar Award: Crowl Marketing/Creative

Chamber Appreciation: Westfield Bank and Starbuck’s Washington Square
