Love's Travel Stops has submitted plans to build a facility at Shuffel Street and Frank Avenue NW.

JACKSON TWP.  A travel center is planned for a 22-acre site on Shuffel Street NW off Interstate 77.

Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has submitted plans to the Stark County Regional Planning Commission. The proposed development will be reviewed in meetings Monday and Tuesday.

The facility would be on the southeast corner of Shuffel Street and Frank Avenue NW. Hossler Development Ltd. owns the vacant tract.

Drawings submitted to the planning commission show a 14,100-square-foot building and two fueling stations, one a separate area for commercial trucks. The building would house two restaurants and a Love's store. The renderings indicate the restaurants would be a Subway and a Hardee's. Two access drives from Shuffel Street are planned.

The design takes into consideration a gas and oil well on the southeast side of the site and a wetlands area on southwest corner. There also are specifics for landscaping and a treeline that would encircle the site.

A spokeswoman for Love's said the proposed project is in the early stages and declined to offer additional details.

Based in Oklahoma City, Love's has more than 450 locations in 41 states, including about a dozen in Ohio. The company started in Oklahoma in 1964. In 2016, the company acquired Trillium CNG and opened 47 locations. Last year, Love's bought 52 SpeedCo locations.
