NORTH CANTON  Deli Ohio, a popular eatery in downtown Canton, will close its second location in North Canton.

The announcement of the closure at 706 S. Main St. appeared on the restaurant's Facebook page. The post said it will close Wednesday, the last day of February.

The location opened in October 2016, in a spot that formerly housed Cessna's Pizza. It was just north of El Rincon, and sits directly next door to the new Pav's Creamery, which opened in December.

It had only four seats inside and was intended as more of a takeout store than the original Canton restaurant, which will remain in business at 328 Walnut Ave. NE.

Owners, in their Facebook post, teased changes at the downtown location.

"Downtown is not going anywhere," the post read. "As a matter of fact, we look forward to growing Downtown with some big changes in the near future. (Did somebody say Carry Out Only register for a more efficient line process?!?!?! Did somebody say Breakfast Club?!?!?!? etc. etc)"

The owners expressed gratitute for support while in North Canton.

"Thank you to the Deli Ohio North staff, North Canton customers, our friends and family for your hospitality and support over the last 16 months," the post read. "We hope you can make the trek Downtown every once in a while to see John and Ellen and the rest of the crew."
