HARTVILLE  Village Council approved a Feb. 13 planning commission recommendation to replat of two parcels on property on Woodland Street owned by Leroy Yoder, part of a planned housing development.

Prior to the Council’s approval, Councilman and Planning Committee Chairman Jeff Kozy said the parcel is being split between and area intended for housing and an area of wetlands. Village Engineer Jim Benekos explained that the Yoder project calls for condominiums to be built on the north end of the property.

State bike path plan approved

Council also approved a motion to support a planned Ohio Department of Transportation project to develop Ohio’s first U.S. and state bike route network, including a section "along Duquette Avenue, south to State Route 619…then onto William Penn Avenue," according to the ODOT resolution.

The ODOT, "Access Ohio 2014," intends to have five U.S. bike routes and 18 state bike routes, comparing the "combination of trails and on-road facilities" to the interstate and state highway systems.
