- Hibernation may get all of the hype, but there are many ways animals survive and thrive in the winter months. Join a naturalist on a leisurely hike from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Jan. 27 to discover the various ways that Ohio's wildlife make it through winter. 'Aladdin'

Green Middle School 7th grade student Brett Anderson has landed the lead role in "Aladdin" at The Kent Stage. Anderson's recent role as Lord Farquaad in "Shrek," presented by the Green Middle School musical theater, prepared him for this main role. "Aladdin" can be seen at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 and 27 and at 3 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St., Kent. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children, and can purchased at the door one hour prior to each performance.

Women veterns

The Military Family Center of Pegasus Farm, 7490 Edison St. NE, Hartville, is hosting a new program "Women Veterans and Their Daughters/Mothers" at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 27. Enjoy a morning at the Military Family Center and learn more about this new endeavor dedicated to veterans, active-duty military, first responders and their families.
