On Jan. 14, police responded to a call of a possible car break-in at Brunnerdale Avenue and Hills and Dales Road. Officers stopped a male suspect matching the description walking in the area. The man was heavily intoxicated and disoriented, telling the officers he did not know where he was going. No evidence was found on him of a break-in. Police charged the 23-year-old with disorderly conduct and took him to the Stark County Jail for his own safety.

A Hocking Street Northwest woman told police Jan. 13 that someone used her credit card without her permission to make a purchase at a local electronics store totaling $1,235.18.

A Canton man, 18, and a male juvenile were charged with theft Jan. 12 after being accused of stealing $300 worth of clothing from a Dressler Road department store. Police said they left the store with stolen merchandise concealed underneath their clothing.

An Indiana woman staying at a Dressler Road hotel reported Jan. 12 that someone entered her room and stole an $8,000 Rolex watch.

A home in the 5800 block of Portage Street Northwest was burglarized Jan. 12. Video games, electronic accessories and other items, total value $472, were reported taken.

Police are looking for four men accused of stealing approximately $2,000 in liquor from a Fulton Drive supermarket Jan. 11. Police said the men were seen loading 30 bottles of liquor in a shopping cart and leaving without paying. An employee attempting to stop the suspects in the parking lot was struck by the suspects’ vehicle as they fled the scene. The employee was treated for a minor injury.

A Rainer Avenue woman reported Jan. 11 that someone broke into her home by forcing open the back door and stole a $200 TV and cable box.

A Canal Fulton man reported someone stole the rear license plate off his Ford Ranger while it was at an Everhard Road transmission shop for repairs. The report was filed Jan. 11. Police entered the plate into a national database for stolen license plates.

A Stuhldreher Street man told police Jan. 11 that his ex-wife was harassing him with unwanted phone calls and text messages even after he told her to stop. He said she called him 15 times that day and constantly texts him while he’s at work. Police contacted the woman and advised her to stop trying to communicate with the man or she could face charges.

A quick change artist bilked a clerk at a Portage Street Northwest gas station out of $148 on Jan. 11.

On Jan. 10, a Miles Avenue woman told police someone used her identity to open several credit card accounts. Outstanding charges on the accounts exceeded $2,300.

A Springfield Township man, 27, was charged with theft Jan. 10 after he attempted to leave a Dressler Road department store without paying for two pairs of earrings, total value $110. He was issued a court summons and released.

A Wonderland Avenue man reported a check was stolen from his checkbook Jan. 10. He later learned the check was forged and cashed at a local supermarket. Police were investigating.

Police responded to a "smash and grab" incident at a Whipple Avenue fitness center Jan. 10. A Canton woman reported someone broke out the rear window on her vehicle and stole her purse. Contents of the purse included $700 worth of gift cards, $100 cash and several personal documents.

A Galena Street woman told police Jan. 10 that someone used her debit card number to make a $99 purchase at a local restaurant.

A Lutz Avenue man filed a vandalism report Jan. 10. He told police someone punctured two tires on his car the night before.

A Canton woman told police a woman she did not know punched her three times in the face while she was on a crowded dance floor at an Everhard Road bar Jan. 9.
