Sit-down location in North Canton shuttered, but food truck business expected to relaunch in May.

NORTH CANTON  Lobster Louies has closed its sit-down restaurant, but plans to be operating its food truck at area events beginning in May.

The restaurant, which specialized in lobster rolls and sea food, officially closed over the weekend.

"It was a business decision," owner Larry Suter said. The restaurant had operated for one year in a plaza at 1176 S. Main St.

The food truck has been operating for several years, serving at area events and sometimes popping up at different locations.

Suter said he plans to be back out with the food truck once the weather improves. "It's a little bit more of a promising enterprise," he said.

No decision has been made about opening another sit-down restaurant at another location, Suter said. He's researching and considering different aspects of the venture.

"It would have to be the right opportunity," he said.

The worst part of closing is knowing some customers would be disappointed, Suter said. "We had great customers. We love our customers."

Suter said customers can get details and the schedule for Lobster Louies food truck on the business' Facebook page. Coupons and certificates presented by Lobster Louies will be honored at the food truck. Other coupons and packages can be returned to where they were purchased.
