LAKE TWP.  Before the regular meeting on Jan. 10, the Lake Local Schools Board of Education held its annual organizational meeting to re-elect Derrick Bailey as board president and Jenny Anderson as board vice president and to set other items for the year.

The board set meeting dates for the third Monday of every month starting at 7:30 in the large group instruction room in the Lake Middle School. Plus, the board approved the Ohio School Board Association membership for $6,059 plus a $250 for legal assistance fund consultant.

The board approved posting a $75,000 bond each for the treasurer and the business manager for the term of both of their contracts.

The following actions were taken during the regular meeting:

- Recognized the members of the board for their service and commitment to the district and was given a certificate of appreciation by Superintendent Kevin Tobin.

- Approved setting graduation for 3 p.m., May 19, 2018 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.

- Accepted a donation of a 120 Corsair H1500 gaming headsets from Corsair Memory valued at $9,599. The headsets will be used by the Lake High School E-Sports Club.
