A Woodlawn Avenue Northwest man, 43, was charged Dec. 23 with felony domestic violence. Police said he punched his girlfriend in the jaw and held her against her will at their home. He was booked into the Stark County Jail.

A Massillon woman reported her $700 cell phone was stolen while she was at a Fulton Drive bar Dec. 23. On the same evening, a Canton man reported an unknown person punched him in the face at a Dressler Road bar. He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

A Cincinnati man, 43, was charged Dec. 23 with domestic violence. His wife told police the man threw her to the ground and got on top of her while they were arguing in their room at a Dressler Road hotel. The woman had injuries on her leg, elbow and lip.

A Canton man, 28, was arrested for disorderly conduct Dec. 23 after police said he got into a fight with another man inside the Belden Village Mall. He was issued a court summons and released.

On Dec. 22, police responded to a call of a large fight involving about 15 people in a business parking lot on Everhard Road. Most of the individuals had fled the scene by the time officers arrived. Two remaining victims with injuries were taken to a local hospital.

A Uniontown man reported his pickup truck was "keyed" while it was parked at a home on Orchardway Avenue Northwest Dec. 22. He described a possible suspect as a white male in his 60s, with gray hair, wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans, and driving a black sedan.

On Dec. 21, an employee at a Belden Village Street business reported someone broke out the rear window on her van in the parking lot. Damage was estimated at $400.

A North Canton woman reported Dec. 21 that she accidentally left $100 in the slot of a self-checkout register at a Mega Street Department store. When she called to find out if anyone had turned the money in, she was told no one had.

Officers responding to a domestic call at a Foxhaven Street home Dec. 21 said they detected an odor of marijuana when a woman answered the door. A jar containing the drug was found on a shelf. A 21-year-old man at the home claimed it was his and was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession.

On Dec. 20, an Edmund Court Circle woman told police she received an email from an unknown person threatening her with bodily harm. Police said they would place extra patrols in the area.

Police arrested two people on warrants Dec. 20. An Akron man, 42, was arrested on Jackson Township warrants for violation of a protection order and domestic violence. A Canton man, 25, was arrested on warrants for arson and aggravated trespassing. Both men were booked into the Stark County Jail.

A worker called to service an ATM at a Strip Avenue Northwest bank Dec. 20 reported finding an electronic skimmer on the machine. A bank employee believes the device was installed sometime during the overnight hours of Dec. 19-20.

A Wooster woman reported her wallet was stolen while she was dining at a Dressler Road restaurant Dec. 20. She later discovered a credit card from inside the wallet was used at several local businesses.

A Candleberry Street woman reported a package containing light fixtures was stolen from her front porch on Dec. 20.

A Kentview Circle man reported a golf bag with clubs, worth a total of $2,500, was stolen from his car. The theft was reported on Dec. 20. Two other property thefts were reported on the same day. A Stuart Street Northwest man said someone entered his garage and stole tools, money and a backpack from two vehicles parked inside. Total loss was estimated at $1,210. On Nobles Pond Drive, a package containing Teddy Ruxpin toys was taken from a front porch.

A Shady Hollow Drive woman told police Dec. 20 that someone threw eggs at her house on two consecutive nights.

A diamond ring valued at $800 was reported stolen Dec. 20 from an unlocked car in the 3500 block of Wales Avenue Northwest.

On Dec. 19, an officer on patrol spotted a man and woman loudly arguing in a car with the windows down in an Erie Canal parking lot. The woman, 36, of Massillon, was found with a felony theft warrant out of Akron. She was arrested and turned over to Akron police.

Sometime during the overnight hours of Dec. 18-19, thieves removed all four wheels and tires from a car parked at a Whipple Avenue car lot. The vehicle was left on blocks. Total loss was estimated at $4,000.

A Canton man said he was robbed of his pants in a store parking lot on Mega Street Northwest on Dec. 19. The man told police a man approached him with a baseball bat and demanded he remove his pants. The robber fled with the man’s pants and wallet.
