'Consider the Oyster'

Kent State University at Stark’s theatre department presents "Consider the Oyster" by David MacGregor. The play will be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday. "Consider the Oyster" features Gene, who, after watching his favorite team win the Super Bowl, spontaneously proposes to his longtime girlfriend, Marisa. In the midst of the excitement, he breaks his leg. A doctor places an oyster shell in Gene’s leg to aid in healing; however, the oyster shell sets off a chain reaction of feminine changes in Gene’s physicality, hormones and emotions. Gender identity and humor explode on stage in this comical, yet thought-provoking, play. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $7 for non-Kent State students and senior citizens. All Kent State students are admitted free of charge with a current student ID. Tickets may be reserved online at www.kent.edu/stark/theatre or call the Kent State Stark Theatre Box Office at 330-244-3348. Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided.
