The Green community is invited to a support dinner and raffle from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Green High School to help raise funds to lessen the financial burden for a local mother who is grieving the loss of her third child.

Robin Spilker lost her 17-year-old daughter, Laura, on Sept. 19 after she experienced stroke symptons, seizures and brain herniation. In 2003, Spilker lost her first child, Adam, from a virus that attacked his heart. In 2016, her second son, Josh, committed suicide on St. Patrick's Day 2016 after battling with severe depression.

When Spilker and her 19-year-old daughter, Emily, returned home from the hospital following Laura's death, they found a foreclosure notice pinned to the door of their home. The dinner and raffle is aimed to help provide Robin and Emily Spilker a fresh start.

Cost for the dinner is $10 a plate for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. The menus includes salad, bread, pasta, drinks and dessert.

Donations and questions can be directed to and can be found by searching "Spilker."
