The members of Grace Bible Church, 5781 Manchester Road, invite the public to the first Gracetoberfest from 2 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 14 to enjoy music, food, hay rides, games and community booths.

The free, family event, which the church plans to make an annual event, according to co-chariman Tom Knoebel, will be held rain or shine.

"This is not a fundraiser," Knoebel said. "We consider it a community outreach program of Grace Bible Church. Our goal is to bring joy to the community, in accordance with our church mission to love, follow, and share Jesus Christ. We are blessed with a great big front yard and probably the biggest parking lot in Manchester, so we feel we have a perfect location for the event."

Activities will include hay rides, bouncy houses, petting zoo, pony rides, Bricks4kids Lego booth, face painting, family photo-booth, carnival-style games for kids and 9-square court for teens. The event will also feature the New Franklin Fire Department firemen and trucks and the New Franklin police K-9 unit.

The live music schedule features the Manchester High School Marching Band at 2:15 pm; The GBC Worship Band at 3:30 pm; the Fat Bald Old Men, a classic rock/blues band, at 5 p.m; and The Clint Miller Band, a rock/Christian band, at 6:30 p.m.

Everything from seafood, to burgers to funnel cakes to vegetarian dishes and traditional county-fair-food will be available.

"We intentionally chose five unique trucks that each bring different flavors to the festival," Knoebel said. "We also tried to get local trucks so we can support those businesses around the New Franklin area."

The food trucks at the Gracetoberfest will be Elmridge Eats Truck, Canal Fulton; Lobster Louies, North Canton; Ye Olde School Treats N Eats, Akron; Raging Avocado, Louisville; and a Twist of Leona, Akron.

There will have police on and with it being a family event, no alochol will be served, Knoebel said.
