Sled hockey with vets

Join Adaptice Sport Program of Ohio's Wildcats sled hocky team as they take on Stark County veterans and celebrities at 4 p.m. Saturday at Center Ice Complex, 8319 Port Jackson Ave. NW, Jackson Township.  A five-man detail of the 555th Honors Detachment representing the five branches of service will be on hand to present the colors for the singing of the national anthem. The purpose of the event is to highlight adaptive sports opportunities for injured veterans and service members. Spectators, including injured veterans, will have the opportunity to play sled hockey after the game. Admission is $5 and free for veterans.

Ghost investigation

The Spirits of the Palace Ghost Investigation starts at 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 and ends at 2 a.m. on Oct. 7 at the Canton Palace Theatre. Join others for an investigation into the world of paranormal in the Canton Palace Theatre. Team S.P.E.C.T.R.E. will lead the investigation. Pumpkin carving

The Great Pumpkin Carve will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Beech Creek Botanical Gardens, 11929 Beech St., Alliance. This is a fun, creative, hands-on project for the whole family. Design your own or use a template. Pumpkins are suppled for families to prepare, design and carve and the carved pumpkins will remain on display at the gardens through Oct. 14.
