A Canton man, 28, of Shakertown Drive Northwest, was jailed Sept. 18 on a charge of domestic violence. Police said an argument in a car led to the man grabbing his girlfriend twice by the hair as she tried to get away.

A Quail Hollow Street man told police Sept. 18 that someone used his identity to secure $22,000 in loans in California and several other states.

A Seymour Street Southwest man, 26, was charged Sept. 17 with felonious assault. Police said he stabbed a woman in the forearm with a folding knife during an altercation at his apartment. The woman had gone to the residence to pick up personal belongings when a shoving match erupted between the two that climaxed in the alleged assault.

Someone broke into a home in the 4100 block of Rainier Street Northwest Sept. 17. Jewelry, $1,000 and Medicare and Social Security cards were reported stolen. A window screen was cut to gain entry.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Medina man Sept. 17 on warrants charging him with assault, aggravated menacing and aggravated burglary. He was taken to the Stark County Jail and booked.

A North Canton woman reported her wallet was stolen while she was shopping at a Strip Avenue Northwest store Sept. 17. The wallet contained $600, a credit card and several IDs.

A Hartville man, 53, was booked into the Stark County Jail on charges of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, theft, obstructing official business and possession of drug abuse instruments. According to the police report, the man left a Mega Street department store with a power washer he did not pay for. He returned to the store later in the day and was recognized by security who called police. When asked to identify himself, the man reportedly gave officers his brother’s name and Social Security number. Police found him in possession of heroin and during a search of his car uncovered 16 hypodermic needles under the driver’s seat, according to the report. Police also said he was driving under suspension and with license plates registered to another vehicle.

A Louisville woman reported her purse was stolen after someone broke into her car while she dining at a Dressler Road restaurant Sept. 16.

On Sept. 15, police responded to an alarm drop at a home in the 6900 block of Buckhorn Drive. An undisclosed amount of jewelry was reported taken from a wooden box. Police said a rear window was forced open to gain entry.

A Thicket Street Northwest man, 61, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 15 after he was accused of slapping his wife twice on both ears during an argument at their home. He was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.

A Massillon woman reported someone stole the license plate off her trailer while it was parked at a Sunset Strip Avenue motel Sept. 15.

An Alliance woman, 18, was charged with theft Sept. 15 after she was allegedly caught stealing a bottle of liquor from a Whipple Avenue supermarket. She was issued a court summons and released.

A man left a Strip Avenue Northwest restaurant on Sept. 15 without paying his $52 bill. He was described as white, 5 feet and 11 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with gray hair and glasses. He was last seen getting into an older model pickup truck.

A Canton woman, 29, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments Sept. 15 after police said they found two hypodermic needles with orange caps inside her purse on Dressler Road. She was issued a court summons and released.

A Canton man reported someone repeatedly "keyed" his vehicle while it was parked at Kent State University Stark Campus Sept. 14.

Three pairs of sunglasses with a total value of $679 were reported stolen Sept. 14 from a store in the Belden Village Mall.

A Louisville woman, 30, was charged with theft Sept. 13 at a Dressler Road department store. Police said she left the store with nearly $300 in merchandise hidden in a baby stroller. Her 3-month old son was in the stroller at the time.

During a traffic stop on Everhard Road Sept. 13, police discovered the 18-year-old driver was wanted on a felony warrant for receiving stolen property. He was released to North Canton police.

An Oxford Avenue woman, 66, and her granddaughter, 21, of the same address, were charged Sept. 12 with domestic violence. Police said the two were involved in a physical altercation at their home. Both were arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.

A homeless man, 26, was arrested Sept. 12, charged with having a weapon under disability. Police said they found him in possession of a handgun at a Sunset Strip Avenue motel. Because of a previous conviction for a felony drug offense, the man is prohibited from owning a firearm.
