The deadline to register for Kent State University at Stark's free information session titled "Get Started: Crash Course in College Planning" is Oct. 3.

JACKSON TWP.  Kent State University at Stark will host a free information session on Oct. 5 designed to help students and parents choose a college.

The session, titled "Get Started: Crash Course in College Planning," will be held at 6 p.m. in Kent State Stark's Main Hall Auditorium at 6000 Frank Ave. NW. The event is intended for high school juniors and seniors who plan to attend any higher education institution and is not limited to Kent State Stark, according to a news release from the university.

Session topics include how to choose a major, what to expect in a typical college class, the right time to apply for college, what to look for in a college and how to get scholarships. 

Participants who apply to Kent State Stark for spring or fall 2018 during the event will have their application fees waived.

Light refreshments will be served.
