The Whiskey Ranch has closed. A sign on the door says the business is being remodeled and will reopen as the Bomber Brewhouse.
GREEN Done with whiskey and time for a beer?
The Whiskey Ranch at 4919 Mt. Pleasant St. NW, adjacent to Akron-Canton Airport, has closed.
A sign on the door reads: "Coming soon; Bomber Brewhouse; Closed for remodeling."
Doors to the restaurant, which for many years operated as the 357th Fighter Group, were locked and no one appeared to be at the building Friday afternoon.
An answering machine message said the business had switched to fall and winter hours, and would be closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It invited called to reserve space for holiday parties.
The 356th Fighter Group, also called "The Bomber," opened in 1986 and closed in January 2014. Several partners bought the business in May 2015 and after remodeling opened as the Western-flavored Whiskey Ranch. The restaurant featured southern barbecue, more than 150 types of whiskey, scotch and rye, and a wide beer selection. It also offered live music from country acts.
