GREEN Residents of Green had the opportunity to get informed about what is happening in the city and enjoy ice cream from Pav’s Creamery on Aug. 31.
Council President Chris Humphrey said Pav’s Creamery has been generous in providing ice cream for the event. He thanked Green Mayor Gerard Neugebauer for all his hard work, adding that he is doing a great job leading the city.
The second annual Get the Scoop event held at Central Park also allowed for those in attendance to talk one-on-one with their councilman.
“The ice cream may have had something to do with why you came,” Humphrey said.
Neugebauer discussed a few projects going on in the city, including the nearly complete First Responders Memorial, which will be dedicated Sept. 11. The city has two first responders in Texas helping with Hurricane Harvey cleanup.
He also mentioned with security cameras being installed in all the parks and that free Wi-Fi has also been added.
Members of council, along with the mayor, handed out coins to those who took part in the Silver Coin Challenge. In all, the city had 165 people take part in the challenge, which allowed for residents to be active in the community and visit different places in the city.
Following a few remarks from council and the mayor, residents enjoyed ice cream as members of council walked around the room to talk to residents about concerns and projects.
