A New Philadelphia woman, 32, and an Uhrichsville woman, 31, were charged Aug. 7 with theft. Police said they attempted to leave a Dressler Road department store with over $250 in clothing without paying.
A Canton man, 47, of 11th Street Southwest, was booked into the Stark County Jail Aug. 6 for felony domestic violence. He is accused of punching his brother in the face during an argument. The charge was a felony due to a previous conviction.
A Canton woman, 55, was charged with theft Aug. 6 after she was allegedly caught on closed-circuit TV concealing items in her purse at mall department store. She was issued a court summons and released. The recovered merchandise totaled $111.
Police lodged a domestic violence charge against a 27-year-old Canton woman Aug. 6. She is accused of punching her live-in partner twice in the face during an altercation at their 20th Street home. She was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.
On Aug. 5, police responded to a call from a Belden Village Street sub shop about a man suspected of using drugs in the restroom. Officers found the man in an apparent drug-induced state and called EMS. The man was treated and then transported to a local hospital. A syringe and other items found at the scene were sent to the Stark County Crime Lab for testing.
A Canton woman, 43, of 9th Street Northwest, was arrested Aug. 5 on a felony robbery charge. Police said she bumped a security officer with her shoulder while attempting to flee during a shoplifting incident at a Whipple Avenue store. Police discovered she had a warrant for felony theft out of Massillon Municipal Court. She was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.
A vase valued at $100 was reported stolen Aug. 5 from a burial site at an Everhard Road cemetery.
A Brunswick Circle man reported Aug. 5 that someone threw black paint on his garage door and driveway. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
Police were called to investigate a break-in at a Freedom Avenue business Aug. 5. Unknown suspects reportedly cut a hole in the wall to gain entry. It was unknown at the time if anything had been taken.
On Aug. 4, an employee at a Portage Street muffler shop reported someone entered his vehicle in the parking lot and stole $4,500, a cell phone and a paycheck.
A Canton man, 21, was jailed in Stark County Aug. 4 on a domestic violence charge. His stepfather told police the man held a blunt object over his head and acted like he was going to hit him with it. He said he feared for his safety.
A home in the 8400 block of Bald Eagle Circle was broken into Aug. 4. An inventory of stolen items was being prepared at the time of the report.
An Autumnwood Street man told police Aug. 4 he was scammed out of $475 after responding to a caller who said he could fix his computer. The money was taken out of the man’s PayPal account after he unknowingly provided personal information, a report said.

A Daytona Street Northwest man, 18, was charged Aug. 3 with domestic violence. He is accused of picking up his sister and throwing her against a wall at their home. The victim suffered back injuries.

A Serenity Drive Southwest man, 21, was charged Aug. 3 with criminal damaging. Police were called to Salerno Street where the suspect was being held by a man who said he saw him and two other men around his van. The man found one of his tires had been punctured.
An aluminum ladder worth $300 was reported stolen Aug. 3 from a backyard in the 7900 block of Daytona Street Northwest.
A Canton woman, 27, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 3. Police said she struck the father of her children multiple times about the face and body during an argument in a motel lobby on Sunset Strip Avenue.
Police and EMS responded to a drug overdose at a Trail Head Circle home Aug. 2. A resident there reported a man needed medical attention after huffing from a can of air duster.
Fourteen pocket knives, total value $110, were reported stolen Aug. 2 from a Portage Street travel center. Security video captured a man putting the knives in his pockets and leaving without paying.
A manager at a Fulton Drive supermarket told police Aug. 1 that someone gained access to his locked desk drawer and stole $4,000. Police were investigating.
A Greenview Circle man reported Aug. 1 that someone entered his home while he was asleep and stole a wallet, a purse and a jar of coins from the kitchen.
