LAKEMORE Village Council approved the hire of Patricia Ryan as zoning officer during a special meeting July 31.
Ryan will be paid $20 an hour and will receive a pension through Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), workers compensation, life insurance and medicare benefits. She will be scheduled to work 20 hours per month, with the ability to roll over un-worked hours. She will work a 90-day trial period before a permanent position would be created.
"I am really looking forward to working with Pat," said Mayor Rick Justice. "I think she will help us out quite a bit, she already has."
In other business
- Resolutions authorizing the mayor and fiscal officer to sign the Community Facilities Grant Resolution with the USDA and the Community Facilities Loan Resolution with the USDA for a 2008 Lifeline Type III Modular ambulance were approved. An ordinance was also approved to amend the budget for the USDA funds.
- Council members approved an amended ordinance for changes to the 2003 Employee Policies and Procedures Manual by creating a Village Auxiliary Police Unit.
- During the meeting, Ezekiel Ryan was promoted to part time police officer and Alexis Slider was commissioned as an unpaid reserve police officer.
The next regular council meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 5 at the Municipal Building.
