GREEN  A man driving a motorcycle was killed Sunday evening in Green after his vehicle was struck by a car, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

According to a Sheriff's Office news release, around 5:57 p.m., a 20-year-old New Franklin man was riding his 2017 Suzuki Gladius northbound in the 4900 block S. Main St. when he was struck by a 1999 Ford Escort that was attempting to make a left turn. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his bike and, according to the Sheriff's Office, came to rest about 47 feet from where the collision occurred. The motorcycle slid into the northbound land and into the path of a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe.

The motorcycle driver was transported to Akron City Hospital where he died from his injuries. The driver of the Ford Escort, a 22-year-old woman, was treated and released on the scene with minor injuries. The driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was uninjured.

The crash, which closed the road for about two hours, remains under investigation.
