GREEN  The Green Board of Education recognized 13 local businesses designated as Business Honor Roll members for their support to the district. Created in 2011 by the Ohio School Board Association (OSBA), the Business Honor Roll program provides an opportunity for districts to say thank you and honor local businesses for their support and contributions.

The purpose of this program is to help OSBA members maintain and build upon the support they receive from their local business community.

Businesses were nominated by Green Local School district and building administration for ongoing contributions to individual schools and the district as a whole. Support included volunteering, mentoring, support of extracurricular programs, supporting programs with in-kind or financial support, buying ads in event programs and donating to scholarship programs.

Districts were limited to five Business Honor Roll recipients; four individual businesses for any kind of support and one category for specific project support. Green chose the 2016 Bulldog Dash for the specific project category.

Individual recipients are District Boutique, Splash and Dash, Novus Eye Clinic and North Coast Theatrical. Special Project businesses honored are Spoonhower Orthodontics, Acme Fresh Market, Giant Eagle Market District, Fred Martin Nissan, Sheetz, Romeo’s Pizza, Cutler Real Estate, American Printing and Lakes Heating.

Business owners from Spoonhower Orthodontics, District Boutique and Cutler Real Estate attended the July Board of Education meeting, receiving a special plaque and certificate.

"This special initiative from the OSBA is a great reminder of the symbiotic relationship the Green Local Schools must maintain with our business community to remain a high achieving, high performing district," said Superintendent Jeff Miller.
