• Police arrested an Ellesmere Street boy, 15, on a charge of misdemeanor vehicular vandalism stemming from an incident that took place at a North Main Street location. The suspect was taken into custody at an Applegrove Street residence and later released into the custody of his mother with a signed promise to appear in court.

• An employee at a Market Avenue North business reported that an unknown suspect tricked a cashier into giving him change that he did to have coming, then left the business with the change, the merchandise and the original money for the purchase. An investigation is pending.

• A Canton man, 29, was arrested at an Elberta Avenue residence on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drugs. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in court and released.

• A Beech Hill Road boy, 13, was arrested on a charge of vandalism. The suspect was taken into custody and released to his mother with a signed promise to appear in court.

• Police arrested a Woodcraft Avenue NE man, 18, at an East Maple Street location on misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, offenses involving underage persons consuming alcohol, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in court and released.

• A North Main Street woman reported that she was pushed around, held down on a bed and choked by her live-in boyfriend. The boyfriend was arrested at the scene and charged with domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

• A 9th Street NE man, 42, was arrested at his residence on a charge of using weapons while intoxicated. The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and booked into the Stark County Jail.

• A Chadford Gate woman, 53, reported that an unknown suspect stole a grill from his residence. The gas grill, with an estimated value of $850, was stolen from a walkway behind the garage on the west side of the building. An investigation is pending.

• Police arrested a School Avenue woman, 21, at a Whipple Avenue business on a charge of misdemeanor theft without consent. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Stark County Jail. 

• A Canton woman was arrested during a traffic stop on Everhard Road and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was originally stopped for failure to maintain a safe distance and clear distance after striking another vehicle that had stopped for a red light. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Stark County Jail.

• A Greenway Road SE man, 23, reported that an unknown suspect stole his bank information and emptied all funds from his account. The victim reported the theft of $2,000 from the account and an investigation is pending.

• A Canton woman, 33, was arrested near the intersection of 11th Street and North Main Street and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in Canton Municipal Court and released.

• Officers responded to a call from a North Main Street residence where an individual with a developmental disability was out of control. A case worker explained that the individual has a personality disorder and was violent. The officer observed numerous items that had been thrown or scattered by the individual and medics arrived to transport the individual for medical attention.

• A Saint Albans Circle woman, 44, reported that a known suspect threw a bag of clothes at her during a dispute. The woman told police she was two minutes late picking up children she and the suspect share custody of and the suspect became angry. No charges were filed and the case was closed.
