The South Summit Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 52 annual Joe Fazek Golf Outing on Aug. 9. The event will be held at Turkeyfoot Lake Golf, 294 W Turkeyfoot Lake Road, New Franklin. It will include a lunch provided by Old Carolina Barbeque and a steak dinner provided by the Upper Deck. There will be a four-person scramble, Raffles, putting contest and a new golf ball launcher contest. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and tee-off is at 10:30 a.m.
Organized by the SSCC golf committee, the outing raises funds to support the efforts of the Chamber. The Chamber of Commerce is an organization of citizens who are investing their time and money in a community development program-working together to improve the economic, civic, and cultural well-being of the area. It is made up of both local business and area non-profits working together.
"The Golf Outing has become a fun and important annual event to support the Chamber," Executive Director Crissy Kolarik said in a news release. "Thanks to the generosity of the many people who make it successful, we are able to make a significant difference in the communities we serve."
The City of Barberton, Summa Health Systems, BWX Technologies and CompManagement will be the "Gold Co-Sponsors" for the event, continuing their long tradition of partnering with SSCC on projects and programs that benefit the community.
