GREEN During the Portage Lakes Career Center's (PLCC) Board of Education meeting, July 13, Treasurer Chris Wright reported that the state Auditor's Office is on site and has begun the 2017 audit.
"We are hoping to have it completed by the end of August," he said.
Superintendent Ben Moore said it has been a quiet summer around the career center. New carpet is being installed in the building as well as LED lighting.
"Everyone is in place, the building will be ready for the start of the new school year," he said.
Moore showed a video created by the design and imaging students of the school that will be used as a promotional video for the Dragon Dream Team.
In other business, the board:
- Approved contracts for Evelyn Berger, teacher; and Kristy McKenzie, teacher, effective the 2017-18 school year.
- Approved extended time for the 2017-2018 school year and supplemental contracts for the following:
Bridget Comes, Plant/Landscape/Turf Management, 5 days
Ronda French, School Psychologist, 10 days
Nancy Woods, Guidance Counselor, 20 days
Jerami Hodgkinson, SkillsUSA Advisor, $735.02
Kristy McKenzie, Nursing Services, $1,470.04
Megan Schulte, Student Activities Advisor, $1,470.04
- Approved student program fees for the Career Center and satellite campuses for the 2017-18 school year and the Student Handbook (Code of Conduct) for the 2017-18 school year.
The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at the school.
