• An employee at an East Maple Street business reported that an unknown suspect removed several food products from store shelves and exited without paying for them. The suspect stole seven steaks and drove away without payment. An investigation is pending.

• A Mount Pleasant Road man, 39, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Canton for intimidation. The suspect was taken into custody at a North Main Street residence and turned over to a Canton Police Department officer.

• A vehicle belonging to a Millersburg man was located at a Rosewood Circle residence. The vehicle, a black GMC sedan, was reported stolen. The vehicle was towed from the property and the case was closed.

• Police arrested a Massillon man, 29, in Canton on an outstanding warrant from North Canton. Officers took the suspect into custody on the warrant and booked him into the Stark County Jail on charges of theft and identity fraud.

• A manager at a North Main Street business reported that an unknown suspect stole merchandise from from the store by hiding it inside a baby stroller. A female suspect entered the store with the stroller and a child and was seen stealing laundry detergent from shelves and hiding it in the stroller. An investigation is pending.

• Two suspects were detained after being accused of leaving a 1-year-old child along inside a vehicle in a parking lot for 30 minutes. Police were alerted to the child being left alone and responded to the scene, but prosecution was declined in the case.

• Officers responded to a call from a Bonnett Street residence regarding the investigation of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, they spoke with a man who said he went to the home because his mother did not answer the phone. He found his mother unresponsive and reported a recent hospital trip for her due to jaw and elbow pain. Officers found multiple kinds of medication in the kitchen and the investigation into the cause of death remains open.

• Two officers responded to a call from an Easthill Street residence regarding a deer that had been struck by a car and was laying in the road. The animal was determined to be fatally injured and an officer dispatched the deer using his service weapon. The animal was moved from the road and it was arranged to have the street department remove the animal for disposal.

• A North Main Street man, 22, was arrested at his residence on a charge of domestic violence knowingly causing harm. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Stark County Jail.

• A North Canton man was taken into custody following a traffic stop on East Maple Street. The suspect lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a telephone pole. He was cited for failure to control his vehicle and was determined by the officer to be impaired. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Stark County Jail.

• Police arrested a Pershing Avenue man, 28, at his residence on two outstanding warrants from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was taken into custody and turned over to a sheriff’s deputy.

• Officers responded to a call regarding a verbal dispute between a couple after a woman reported she wanted to leave the location with the couple’s children and feared her boyfriend would be upset. The dispute began when the woman requested that her boyfriend bring her a cigarette to her workplace and he refused because they were both attempting to quit smoking. After speaking with police, the couple agreed that the woman could leave the property with their children for the night.

• An Overland Avenue man called police to report that his son was threatening to harm himself and possibly commit suicide. Upon arrival, police observed the son playing video games and spoke to him about the situation. The son, 19, denied making such threats, but his father claimed he threatened to hurt himself after being denied alcohol. The son was later transported to a local medical facility for observation.

• A Canton woman, 38, was arrested an an Applegrove Street location on a charge of disorderly conduct by means of threatening or fighting. The suspect was issued a summons to appear in Canton Municipal Court and released at the scene. 

• Police arrested a Canton man, 29, on an outstanding warrant from Jackson Township. The suspect was taken into custody and later turned over to a Jackson Township officer.
