Company with operations in North Canton hopes to hire 140 people in the coming weeks.

NORTH CANTON  TruBridge is expanding its local inside-sales force and hopes to hire 140 people in the coming weeks.

The company sells Medicare supplemental insurance and life insurance packages for several large insurance carriers. It currently has about 225 employees and occupies two floors in the Hoover District complex.

In recent years, the company has added employees to handle calls during the Medicare open-enrollment period at the end of the year. This year, the company anticipates additional business with life insurance policies.

The company has added life insurance since being acquired two years ago by Tranzact, a licensed insurance agency based in New Jersey. TruBridge and TZ Insurance Solutions are subsidiaries of Tranzact. The company employs about 1,300 at facilities around the country.

TruBridge has the sales office locally and a case management office in Dublin. The company wants to add 35 people — some in seasonal positions — at the case management office, where employees work with customers after they have purchased a policy.

The company has scheduled an open house for 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Candidates can tour the operation, fill out an application and be interviewed or schedule an interview. Employees receive an hourly wage and incentive bonuses.

TruBridge trains employees and will help them obtain licenses that allow them to sell health and life insurance policies, said Rick Papay, the site director. He has been with TruBridge for eight years, starting as a sales agent.

Most of the company's new hires aren't licensed agents, Papay said. "People come in and do extremely well," he said.

TruBridge uses television and online advertising to reach potential customers. About 40 percent of calls handled by agents are potential customers contacting the company, while the rest are made to people who have expressed an interest in buying a policy, Papay said.

The company began hiring in June, but still has positions to fill, said Paige Soltano, director of human resources. "This is an opportunity for folks to start a career, not just find a job," she said.
