Dragon Boat Festival
Join in the fun of the 5th annual Dragon Boat Festival on Portage Lakes. Activities run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8. Proceeds from the festival go to the Dragon Dream Team and its Boatloads of Hope breast cancer outreach program to help local patients and survivors regain hope again after being diagnosed. PJ Party at the zoo
Get your best" jammies" on and visit the Akron Zoo for its new PJ Party event from 5 to 9 p.m. July 8. The zoo invites everyone to wear their favorite family friendly pajamas and enjoy the zoo in the evening for extended summer hours. Red, White and Old Blue Eyes
The city of Green will host a free concert at Central Park from 6-9 p.m. July 8 to raise funds for the First Responders Monument. People can enjoy Michael Sonata signing the tunes of Frank Sinatra during the Red, White and Old Blue Eyes performance. There will be a food truck and a beer garden available. Donations will be accepted to benefit the city's First Responders Monument. In addition, 50-50 raffles will be sold.
