GREEN

Deputies were called to a South Main Street store June 11 about an intoxicated woman bothering customers and stumbling in the parking lot. Officers on the scene said the woman refused to stop yelling after several requests and began hitting them. She was placed in back of a cruiser where she repeatedly struck herself in the head, giving herself a bloody nose. Deputies arrested the 28-year-old on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

On June 10, deputies were called to a Massillon Road bar after an unidentified man kicked out for causing a disturbance reportedly drove his Ford pickup through the patio. Damage was done to about 30 feet of the fence and curb.

An East Turkeyfoot Lake Road man, 33, was charged with domestic violence June 10. Deputies were called to a motel where the man lives with his girlfriend. Officers found the man in the parking lot with his shirt covered in blood. His girlfriend, found in the room, said the man grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground, and when she got back up, he smacked her in the face. She was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments after officers found two hypodermic needles in the room.

A Kreighbaum Road woman said June 10 a motorist struck her vinyl fence, destroying approximately 100 feet of it. Damage was estimated at $1,300. Another resident on the street said someone struck and destroyed his mailbox.

Deputies stopped a sport utility vehicle continually driving around the parking lot of a Mayfair Road apartment complex June 10. The driver, a 31-year-old Krumroy Road man, was charged with three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies said they found two marijuana pipes and a meth pipe in the center console.

A Springfield Township man, 20, was arrested and booked on a felony theft charge June 9. Deputies said he admitted stealing nearly $1,500 in merchandise over a six-month period while employed at an Arlington Ridge department store.

On June 8, a Tamarisk Circle man reported a 2016 Honda Cru was stolen after someone entered his open garage. The keys were in the ignition at the time. The thief also entered the home, he said, through an unlocked man door and stole a set of keys to the house and another vehicle.

Deputies made two warrant arrests June 8. An Akron man, 38, was picked up at a Fortuna Drive hotel on a warrant out of Georgia charging him with being a fugitive from justice. He was placed in a holding cell at the Summit County Jail to await extradition. A W. Nimisila Road woman, 29, was arrested at her home on a warrant for aggravated possession of drugs, a violation of her probation. She was booked into the Summit County Jail.

A four-wheeler, a dirt bike and two bicycles were reported taken June 8 from a lean-to in the 3200 block of Kreighbaum Road. The value of the property was not available.

A Springfield Township woman reported her cell phone was stolen after she accidentally left it in a restroom at a South Arlington Road business June 8.

A Barberton man, 25, was charged June 8 with criminal damaging. Deputies said he kicked the door of an apartment on Glen Eagles Drive during a quarrel with a resident. He was issued a court summons and released.

On June 6, a Parisette Lane man reported someone stole his pontoon boat while it was tied to his dock.

Deputies issued a theft warrant June 6 for a 31-year-old Hartville man. He is accused of leaving an Interstate Parkway home improvement store with a $600 miter saw without paying.

A dealer license plate was reported stolen from an Interstate Parkway car lot June 6.

On June 5, deputies were told someone threw debris and parts of a boat hull on property belonging to the Akron-Canton Airport.

A North Canton man, 37, was charged with having a prohibited item at the Akron-Canton Airport June 4. A TSA agent reported finding a 9mm magazine with three rounds of ammunition in his carry-on luggage. The item was confiscated and the man was permitted to board his flight.

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP

On June 11, deputies were told a man in a white pickup truck drove up to the drive-thru window at a South Arlington Road coffee shop and stole the tip jar.

An Akron man told deputies June 11 that someone entered his vehicle while it was parked on Eastern Road and stole his wallet containing $500. He also said a rear tire had been cut.

An Ethan Allen Drive woman found someone had broken into her home after she returned from a vacation June 10. Four necklaces, a laptop computer, an iPad and a jewelry box were reported taken.

A Barberton man, 30, was picked up on State Street June 9 on warrants for possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and non-support of dependents. He was arrested and transported to the Summit County Jail.

A Wadsworth woman, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana June 9 after deputies found her with the drug during a traffic stop on South Arlington Road. She was initially pulled over for expired registration.

An Akron man, 43, was charged with theft June 8 after deputies said he left a Manchester Road supermarket with three packages of steaks, razors, and deodorant, total value $190, without paying.  He was issued a court summons and released.

Deputies were called to investigate incidents of vandalism at Logan Field June 7. Unknown suspects flipped over the soccer goals, ripped the nets, and pulled the flags out of the ground, damaging one of them. The cost of repairs was estimated at $275.

A Waterside Drive woman, 28, was charged June 7 domestic violence. Deputies determined she was the primary aggressor in a physical confrontation with her partner. She was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail.

A Littledale Drive man told deputies June 3 that someone used his debit card number to withdraw $68 from his account via Western Union.

NEW FRANKLIN

On June 10, a Canterbury Drive man told police someone accessed his savings and checking account and transferred money from one account to the other to make it appear that no unauthorized withdrawals were made. He later found $60 was missing from the checking account.

On June 9, a Center Road woman reported someone bent the gate behind her garage and ransacked several bags of livestock feed.

A Vanderhoof Road man, 59, was charged June 7 with domestic violence. Police said he punched his wife in the face and threw her to the floor during a quarrel at the home. He was arrested and taken to Barberton City Jail.

A Zeletta Drive woman, 36, was charged June 6 with domestic violence. Police said she told her girlfriend numerous times that she was going to kill the father of her children. Officers said the woman was highly intoxicated. She was arrested and taken to Barberton City Jail.

Two Manchester Road men, ages 18 and 19, were issued court summons June 6 for misdemeanor drug charges. The 18-year-old was charged with possession of drugs after police said they found marijuana in his car during a traffic stop on Valley Crest Drive. The 19-year-old was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police found two marijuana pipes in the apartment he shared with the other man.

A woman told police June 5 that she was sexually assaulted by a man at a home on Sonata Drive. The incident was still being investigated at the time of the report.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP

On June 10, a Mobile Lane resident told police a neighbor woman threatened her with bodily harm because her dog was barking. The neighbor denied the allegation.

A Neal Road man, 21, was charged June 9 with domestic violence. According to a police report, the man assaulted his mother after becoming angry when she found heroin in his wallet and dumped it down the toilet. He pushed his mother around the house, broke several pieces of furniture and punched holes in the walls, the report said.

While investigating a possible theft on South Arlington Road June 8, police charged a 42-year-old West Virginia woman for possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they found a homemade smoking device and scale in her pickup truck.

Police and EMS responded to a drug overdose at an Avis Road home June 8. Paramedics revived a 42-year-old man with Narcan and then transported him to a detoxification center. Police charged the man with possession of drug abuse instruments after finding a used needle in his pants pocket.

Police responded to a domestic call June 7 at a Rhoadesdale Road apartment after a report of a man and woman yelling at each other. Officers on the scene found a man with blood on his clothing and hands. The woman told police the man punched her multiple times in the face and pushed her down. Officers noticed the woman had cuts and bruising on her arms, a bump on her forehead and a bleeding mouth. During the investigation, officers found damage in the apartment and a large quantity of drugs and paraphernalia, including several different types of non-prescribed pills, marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, a scale, a snorting straw, and a box of plastic baggies. Police arrested the man, 24, and the woman, 21, on charges of trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was additionally charged with domestic violence. Both were booked into the Summit County Jail.

UNIONTOWN

A Lake Center Street man, 48, was arrested and booked into Stark County Jail June 12 on a charge of domestic violence. He is accused of pushing and choking his wife during a quarrel at their home.

Police and EMS responded to a June 12 call on Pontius Street about a man in heavy clothing lying on the ground and not moving. When officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, the man got up off the ground and started running. After he was apprehended a short time later and asked why he ran off, he said he didn’t want to go to the hospital. Police said there was nothing physically wrong with the man. Police charged the 18-year-old with disorderly conduct and released him with a court summons.

HARTVILLE

A Lincoln Street Northwest man, 32, was charged June 12 with domestic violence. His wife told police the man threatened to shoot her during an argument. Officers did not find a gun in the man’s possession or at the home at the time, according to reports.
