On June 11, a sales clerk at a Dressler Road shoe store told police three women came in that she recognized from a previous shoplifting incident. When she asked them to leave, they began yelling her. After they finally left, the clerk found merchandise had been stolen. On the same day, a clerk at a Belden Village Street store said three women left with over $800 in clothing without paying.
A Taggart Street woman told police June 10 that someone entered her garage and vandalized her sport utility vehicle and stole a wallet from inside. The intruder smashed two passenger windows, scratched the hood and driver’s door and flattened both rear tires.
A Downingsgate Circle woman, 61, was charged June 10 with domestic violence. Police said she grabbed her daughter by the hair and bit her finger during an argument over a cell phone. She was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.
An elderly resident on Peyton Street Northwest said she was scammed out of money after responding to a caller who said he fixed the viruses on her computer. A report of the incident was filed June 10.
A Canton man, 45, was charged with theft June 10 after he allegedly left a Strip Avenue Northwest store with several articles of clothing hidden on his person. He was issued a court summons and released. The recovered merchandise totaled $259.
A bicycle valued at $60 was reported stolen June 9 from the rear of a home in the 7700 block of Stuhldreher Street NW.
During a traffic stop on Everhard Road June 9, police charged a 20-year-old Canton man with possession of drugs after finding a baggie of marijuana and a pipe in the center console. The man was issued a court summons and released.
A Uniontown woman told police someone obtained her credit card information while she was working at the Belden Village Mall last December. She discovered unauthorized purchases totaling $1,760 were made on the account during a two-month period.
A Canton woman reported someone scratched her car and put feces on it while she was inside a Whipple Avenue physical fitness center June 8.
A Celina Street Northwest woman, 65, was charged June 8 with criminal damaging. Police said during a minor traffic accident on Fulton Drive, she was observed scratching the hood of the other person’s vehicle with a car key.
Police were told that a man entered a Dressler Road beauty salon on June 5, selected and concealed items valued at $62, and fled without paying.
Police filed a report June 8 of a fraudulent purchase made at a Dressler Road car lot. The owner told police a man secured a loan for a vehicle by using another man’s personal information. The vehicle was shipped to an address in another state.
A bronze vase valued at $500 was reported stolen June 8 from a gravesite at an Everhard Road cemetery.
A clerk at an Everhard Road gas station told police June 8 that a woman left without paying for fidget spinners valued at $30.
On June 7, a Stuart Avenue resident told police a person he knows called him multiple times from a blocked phone number and made threats of physical harm to him and his family.
A laptop computer valued at $1,900 was stolen from a Canton woman while she doing demonstrations inside a Strip Avenue Northwest store June 7. She told police a man distracted her while his female companion walked off with the computer.
A quick change artist scammed a sales clerk out of a $100 at a Portage Street Northwest travel center, according to a June 7 report.
A Deerfield man, 26, and a Sebring woman, 30, were arrested on multiple charges June 6 following shoplifting incident at an Everhard Road department store. Police said the two were observed concealing items inside their clothing and leaving without paying. Before fleeing in a car, the man was observed bending the rear license plate to obstruct the view from police. The couple was stopped a short time late. A K-9 unit detected narcotics in the vehicle, and during a search police reportedly found a bag in the glove box containing two hypodermic needles and a white powder believed to be methamphetamine. The man was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, theft, possession of drug abuse instruments and obstructing official business. The woman, who owned the vehicle, was charged with permitting drug abuse and theft. Both were booked into the Stark County Jail.
A Waterford Avenue couple told police June 6 that a family member stole checks and a debit card from their residence during a recent visit. They later found out that $4,495 was withdrawn from their bank account through forged and cashed checks and charges made on the debit card. Police were investigating.
Someone broke into a Frank Avenue Northwest home June 6 and stole $2,600.
A Canton woman reported her wallet was stolen after she left it unattended at a Fulton Drive laundromat June 5. The wallet contained two credit cards, a driver’s license and $20.
A Groton Street Northwest woman reported $10,000 was taken from a safe at her home sometime between June 3 and 5. She gave police the name of a possible suspect.
