- Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise's office will issue new and renewal veteran identification cards which are about the size of a driver's license and can serve in place of the military discharge form DD214. From 9 to 11 a.m. cards will be issued at the Kenmore Community Center, 880 Kenmore Blvd. To be eligible for the card, veterans must present a valid DD214 displaying honorable discharge status and two forms of proper identification (one of which must contain a photograph). - Join staff members from Science and Technology Division of the Akron-Summit County Library at 1 p.m. for a program on planning a garden both to maximize a harvest and seed-saving ability. Heirloom seeds are open-pollinated varieties which will breed true and can be saved from one harvest for the next year’s planting. The library has a Seed Sharing Library in the Science and Technology Division at Main Library which is available whenever the library is open.

- Paddle a portion of Nimisila Reservoir with a certified instructor and a naturalist to learn paddle strokes, safety and see wildlife around the water from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Minimum age is 13; ages 13 to 17 must be with an adult. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and be able to swim. Bring water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and wear clothes that can get wet.
