On June 5, a manager at a Sunset Strip Avenue store told police he observed a man and a woman conceal two sun dresses in a bag and leave without paying for them. The value of the items was listed at $89.98.

A flat-screen TV, an air conditioning unit and copper piping were the main items reported taken June 5 during the burglary of a home in the 2000 block of Woodland Avenue Northwest.

A Uniontown man told police June 5 that while he was inside a Mega Street movie theater, a man struck him on the arm. After the movie, the man followed him outside and spit in his face, he said.

A Texas man, 24, was arrested June 4 after police said he was driving drunk on Everhard Road. He also was found driving without a valid license.

Police were called to a Dressler Road restaurant June 4 after a manager reported an employee stole $178 from a cash register and then walked off his shift. Police were still investigating the incident at the time of the report.

Cash and a pearl necklace were reported stolen June 4 following a burglary at a home in the 2900 block of Carie Hill Circle Northwest. It was determined the thief broke in through a kitchen window and left through a patio door.

Police arrested a Thackeray Avenue couple on domestic violence charges June 3. Police said the woman, 35, struck her 34-year-old boyfriend three times in the chest and twice in the face after he told her to leave the residence. The man knocked the woman to the floor and dragged her out of the apartment by her wrists, according to police. Both were booked into the Stark County Jail.

A 2004 Honda Accord belonging to a Taggart Street woman was reported stolen from her driveway June 3. The woman said two bags of tools, her driver’s license and other items were inside the vehicle at the time.

A Canton man, 39, was charged with theft June 3 after he was allegedly caught shoplifting at a Whipple Avenue supermarket. Security personnel said the man was observed on closed-circuit TV concealing items in his pants and his girlfriend’s purse. Police discovered the man had a warrant from Canton police and released him to that department. The store declined to press charges against the man’s girlfriend.

Someone broke the light on a lamp post outside an East Boulevard Northwest residence June 3. Damage was estimated at $400.

A Canton man, 49, was charged June 3 with disorderly conduct. Police were called to a Sunset Strip Avenue motel where it was reported the man was extremely intoxicated and disturbing patrons with his yelling. He was transported to the Stark County Jail for his own safety.

On June 2, a manager at a Dressler Road restaurant called police after security video reportedly showed a female customer stealing a server’s tip money. The footage showed the woman picking up a pouch containing the money and putting it in her purse. Police were able to identify the suspect through her credit card payment.

A bicycle valued at $100 was reported stolen June 2 from outside a garage in the 9000 block of Colton Street Northwest.

A Massillon woman told police June 2 that someone used her personal information to shut off her cell phone service.

On June 1, a Wallington Circle man reported someone used his personal information to open a checking account and then forged and cashed a check in his name for $2,050. He also said the unknown suspect used his identity to file a federal income tax return.

A Coventry Township man, 47, and a woman, 44, also of Coventry Township, were arrested on warrants for felony theft June 1. Both were booked into the Stark County Jail.

A kayak valued at $400 was reported stolen June 1 from a backyard in the 5400 block of East Blvd. NW.
