Curious Creatures

The Akron Zoo will be unveiling its newest exhibit, Curious Creatures on Saturday. The exhibit will be located in Komodo Kingdom and will include animals that are uniquely different or have odd adaptations allowing guests to learn about some of the world’s most "Curious Creatures." Some of the unique species that guests will learn about include naked mole rats, leaf-cutter ants, electric eel, red-eyed tree frogs, walking batfish, chain dogfish, flashlight fish, mata mata turtle and more. In addition the zoo will also be showcasing some carnivorous plants such as Venus flytrap, pitcher plant, bladderwort and more. The theme is as if visitors are entering a submarine. Cruz-In Car Show

The Manchester United Methodist Church, 5625 Manchester Road, is holding a craft extravaganza and Cruz-In Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting. All makes, models and years are welcome. Motorcycles will not be judged. The registration fee is $5 and registration is from 10 a.m. to noon. Family Fun Day on the farm

Pegasus Farm will welcome the community to the Farm for Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. This event gives the community the opportunity to develop an understanding of the important work done at the farm, providing therapeutic equestrian activities to individuals with special needs, helping them become more independent, confident, well-rounded individuals. The new Country Store will also be open with local products. The Farm is at 7490 Edison Street NE in Hartville. Tickets are $20 per car or minivan, and $10 for individual adults. Cruise in the 'Ville

HWC Automotive will celebrate its move to Hartville by hosting Cruise in the ‘Ville. Classic cars will line Prospect Avenue in Hartville’s Historic District from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday for a show complete with dash plaques, trophies, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. O’Reilly Auto Parts will grill hot dogs for the crowd and Hartville Lions Club will hold its chicken BBQ dinner at the show. Dinners are $12 and include a half chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, roll, water, and dessert. Tickets are available in advance and the day of event until sell out. With or without a car come enjoy the festivities. Shops will be open, DJ, former Cleveland Browns Linebacker Ed Bettridge.
