NORTH CANTON Ever wish there was a store that sold gummi bears bagged by the individual flavors? Most stores sell a variety of flavors in every bag and many people end up only eating their favorite flavors.
A new bulk food and deli recently opened at 8600 Cleveland Ave. in North Canton that offers bags of individual flavors of gummi bears. The store officially opened on April 21 and will be holding an open house later this month. It offers a variety of bulk foods, candies, baked goods and fresh deli and cheeses.
The store is co-owned by Doris Yoder and Diana Coblentz. They both saw a need in the area for the store.
"We’re both from Hartville and we thought that the North Canton area needed a store like this, we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from shoppers," said Yoder. "The deli has gotten a lot of attention for its fresh deli meats and cheeses especially from people working in the area."
One of the items the two knew would be in big demand was selling bags of individual flavors of gummi bears.
"We have a lot of people coming in telling us that it’s rare to find gummi bears bagged in individual flavors so we sell a lot of gummi bears," said Coblentz.
The store is packed full of spices, candies, flours, grains, sugars, canned goods and customers will find fresh ground peanut butter. Most of the deli meats and cheeses are from the Troyer’s brand.
There are fresh Amish baked goods which includes the favored fry pie. These delicious half-moon shaped, fruit filled pies are deep fried and glazed. The side dishes such as macaroni and potato salads and vegetable dips are made fresh inhouse. Customers can also purchase inhouse made take-and-bake Stromboli.
"We’re happy to be here and hope to see many residents stop by and see our store," Yoder said.
