Coventry firefighters, with the help from several neighboring departments, battled a blaze at what officials believe is a vacant home at 1961 West Turkeyfoot Lake Road Friday morning.

According to Coventry fire inspector Brian Cyphert, the fire was reported at 6 a.m. and crews were able to knock it down quickly, but not before it spread to the attic. No injuries were reported.

Coventry Fire Chief John Dolensky said that damage will likely make the home a complete loss

"With the age of home, it's probably going to ge demolished, so I would call it a complete loss," he said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Coventry officials along with the Summit County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Crews from New Franklin, Springfield Township, Green and Lakemore assisted Coventry firefighters.
