The North Canton Fire Department Wednesday saved a mobile home from a quickly spreading SUV fire.

NORTH CANTON  The North Canton Fire Department saved a motorhome from a quickly spreading SUV fire.

Crews arrived at 289 Stratavon Drive NW around 9:06 p.m. Wednesday to find an SUV fully in flames parked next to a motorhome. Firefighters quickly extinguished the SUV fire before it could spread to the home. The SUV was a total loss and the outside of the motorhome had moderate damage.

According to a news release, the SUV's owner was trying to fix a fuel leak when the vehicle caught fire. The owner tried to put out the fire with a handheld extinguisher, but flames spread too quickly.

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes as 20 members of the fire department responded.

No one was injured. The preliminary cause of the fire is accidental.
