CANTON  Kid Rock will join country music singer Toby Keith for the 2017 Concert for Legends.

The concert will be at 8 p.m. Aug. 6 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and will end enshrinement week. Kid Rock is scheduled to perform before Keith takes the stage.

Pete Fierle, chief of staff and spokesman for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said part of enshrinement weekend will focus on honoring the heroes of the nation in addition to the heroes of football. The artists selected to perform have the "American spirit" that will help achieve that goal, he said.

Kid Rock, who was born Robert Ritchie, has sold more than 26 million albums worldwide and describes his style as hip hop, rock, heavy metal and country. Some of his major hits are "All Summer Long," "Picture" and "Cowboy."
