GREEN  Wise Road has reopened at the railroad tracks between Mayfair Road and Boston Avenue, following a short closure.

The road was closed last Thursday because of a hazard that developed for motorists.

"The wood driving surface between the tracks and approaching the tracks had become loose and hazardous," Green Engineer Paul Pickett said.

The tracks are maintained by the METRO Regional Transit Authority and repairs were scheduled for this summer, but do to the loosened wood the repairs were moved up.

"The owner of the tracks brought in a contractor to remove them and use asphalt instead of timers," Pickett said.
