'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'

Theatre 8:15 in Green presents 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' at 8:15 p.m. tonight, Saturday, April 21 and April 22. What is special about this production is that it is directed by 15-year-old Green High School student Carson Coombs, 14-year-old Green Middle School student Ben Johnson and 15-year-old Tuslaw High School student Logan Kornick. Lake Band 5K

Spring has Sprung and that means it is once again time for the annual Lake Band 5K Run/Walk on Saturday. it is a family event and all proceeds are used to support the Lake Band students in grades 5 through 12. Pre-races include the Bunny Run for ages 3 to 5 and the Fun Run for ages 6 to 11. The young participants will receive a Hartville Chocolate Factory Easter Bunny and those placing first, second and third will receive larger bunnies. Prizes will also be awarded to finishers in the 5K. The race is part of the Subway/Ohio Challenge Series. To pre-register for all races visit https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Uniontown/LakeBandRun. Egg Zooprise

The Akron Zoo will be giving away plastic eggs filled with prizes to the first 100 people Sunday who visit the Egg Zooprise event. During the Easter day event people can win candy, free tickets, behind-the-scenes tours, memberships and more. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $9 for children (ages 2-14). Children under two are free and parking is $3. Navy Sea Chanters

The popular United States Navy Band Sea Chanters will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at EJ Thomas Performing Arts Hall. The Chanters are the official chorus of America’s Navy. The ensemble performs a variety of music ranging from traditional choral music, including sea chanteys and patriotic fare, to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music. The Sea Chanters chorus is frequently found at the center of high-profile national events. At home in Washington, the group performs for the president, vice president, and numerous congressional, military and foreign dignitaries. The program is free and open to the public. The concert is a family-friendly event, entertaining for all.

Noah Preminger on the sax

Saxophonist Noah Preminger will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at BLU Jazz+, 47 E. Market Street, Akron. Tickets are $20 and $10 for students.
