It is estimated that a typical household throws away approximately 474 pounds of food every year making food scraps the second largest contributor to our waste stream, according to the Ohio EPA. While the recycling numbers in the city is steadily improving, officials want to continue that healthy trend by urgin residents to recycle food and other organics.
