LAKE TWP.  The Lake Local Schools Board of Education approved two Design Development Phase Submission documents, one for the new elementary school and one for the renovations/additions/partial demolition of Lake High School and Lake Middle School.

The Lake Local Board of Education approved two resolutions to submit changes to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission for approval and to direct Sol Harris/Day Architecture to proceed with the construction documents and making any necessary changes and adjustments.

John Kirkpatrick of the Hammond Construction told the board that both projects are, "on budget, on schedule and per the design manual."


- Approved submitting the five-year forecast to the Department of Education and State Auditor’s Office. 

- Held the monthly Hartville Lion’s Club, Uniontown Lion’s Club and the Lake Board of Education recognition program. The following students and staff were recognized: Mylena Smith and Conner Didyk, 3rd grade; Jillian Baker and Austin Justice, 5th grade; Anna Labbe and Rhys Patrykus, 8th grade; Beverly Prendergast and Anthony Adams, 12th grade. Also recognized, Kathy Tobias, teacher of the month; Renee Bays, employee of the month; and Jennifer Shannon, volunteer of the month.

- Approved free tuition for three foreign students, Sara Callsen from Denmark, Dongin Kim from Korea and Coline Sang from France.

- Accepted a donation of a baby grand piano from Kyle Deiwert valued at $3,000.
