The Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) Center for Loss and Hope will offer a free class on “Dealing with Fatigue and Lack of Energy during Grief” Wednesday, July 8 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at the Hospice of VNS Justin T. Rogers Care Center located at 3358 Ridgewood Road in Fairlawn. The same class will also be offered on Monday, July 6 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Buckeye Room at Rose Lane Health Center located at 5425 High Mill Ave. N.W. in Massillon.
Grief is exhausting work. It can sometimes be difficult for people experiencing grief to keep up with their daily activities, or to continue functioning at previous levels. This program will help to support those who are moving along the journey of grief as they begin to incorporate a habit of healthy living into their daily lives.
“Scrapbooking for Grievers” will be held July 11, 18 and 25 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Hospice of VNS Justin T. Rogers Care Center located at 3358 Ridgewood Road in Fairlawn. Group participants will create a scrapbook devoted to their loved one. This free three-week activity will also offer grief education and support as needed. Please bring to the first class a scrapbook and photos of your loved one to use in the book.
A free six-week “Healing Journey Support Group” will begin on July 21, 2009 from 2 – 4 p.m. or 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Hospice of VNS Care Center located at 3358 Ridgewood Road in Fairlawn. The series will focus on rebuilding life after the death of a loved one and incorporating hope. Group members will help normalize the grief experience through camaraderie with others facing similar challenges. The group will meet every Thursday for eight weeks; choose to attend either the afternoon or evening group.
