On Saturday, March 20 at 11 a.m. children from grades K-6 are invited to the Massillon Public Library to embark on an imaginary journey around the world with a cold-hearted and proud toy rabbit named Edward Tulane from the book by Kate DiCamillo. This program will be held in the library auditorium. Registration is required, begins March 8 and may be done in person or by phone. The Massillon Public Library is located at 208 Lincoln Way East. Jackson AARP #3541 will meet at noon for lunch on March 18 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1900 Wales Rd. NE Massillon. Collections are still being excepted for used ink cartridges, eye glasses and cell phones. We are also expecting canned goods for St. John’s “Care and Share” program. Free blood screening. Join the McKinley Museum March 18, at 6 p.m. for Soup at Six, On the Move: The Early Auto Industry in Stark County. Join Director of Education Christopher Kenney for a look at Stark County's role in the early years of the automobile. Explore early manufacturers like Jewell and Holmes to the County's involvement with Henry Ford. Many modern conveniences of today's autos can be traced back to these early manufacturers. This program is $10 and includes a signature soup, fresh baked bread, beverage and dessert. Reservations are required. Call 330-455-7043 for reservations. Canton Christian Women’s Connection will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 18 at 11:30 a.m. The theme this month is “I Have Nothing to Wear!” The luncheon is held at the North Canton Civic Center and will feature Susan and Betty from Shop Your Closet helping us organize our wardrobe. Free childcare is available upon request.
