COMMUNITY

•  The Ladies Auxiliary of Post 8975, 1649 Krumroy Rd., will have a regular meeting Jan. 12, 7:30 p.m.
•  A grief workshop will begin Jan. 14, from 6:30-8:30 at Greensburg United Methodist Church, 2161 Greensburg Rd. People who have attended the series have benefited greatly from the group. The group will include one session on surviving the holidays while grieving the loss of a loved one.  It will meet Jan. 14, 28 and Feb. 11, 25,  and March 11 and 25, ending on April 8. If you are grieving, the greatest gift you can give yourself is to attend this group.  If you know someone who is grieving, come with them for at least the first two or three sessions. •  “North by Northwest” is the featured free movie, Jan.14, 6:30 p.m., at the Main Library. Parking is free in the High/Market Street Parking deck after 6 p.m. For more information call 330-643-9015.

•  Green Chamber of Commerce will host BWC employees, Deb Bailey, Industrial Safety Consultant and Drew Cate, Employer Services for an industrial roundtable, Jan. 14, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. Registration is $10 for Chamber members, $15 for non-members  and includes continental breakfast and presentation. The roundtable will be held at Holiday Inn Express, 898 Arlington Ridge East. •  American Cancer Society Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group in Green will meet 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Greensburg United Methodist Church, 2161 Greensburg Road. The first meeting of 2010 will be devoted to attendees’ questions and experiences and recent developments in treatment and detection of prostate cancer.  All are welcome. Church

• Springfield Baptist Church will present the Songsters Quartet, Jan. 17, 7 p.m. at the church, 1920 Krumroy Rd. A free will offering will be taken. Everyone is welcome.

Senior Moments

•  Manchester United Methodist Church, 5625 Manchester Rd., invites area seniors to gather for food and fellowship Jan. 14. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and a light lunch for $2.50 will be served at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. Guest speaker is Gail Mercer whose topic is “Demonstration of Egg Art and Its Relationship to Religion.” For reservations or transportation, call the church office at 330-882-4818.
•  Monday's Pinochle begins at noon at the Springfield Township Boyd Esler Senior/Community Center, 2491 Canfield Rd. Other activities include Bingo on Tuesday's at 11 a.m.; Bridge at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday's; Line Dancing at 9 a.m. on Thursday's and Euchre beginning at noon on Friday's. Blood pressure checks are offered Wednesday's at 3 p.m. and home cooked meals are served Monday through Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by 11 a.m. each day for the meal program.
