  • Red  White on Thursday Night, a strolling dinner party benefiting the Arthritis Foundation, Northeastern Ohio Chapter, returns to the John S. Knight Center on Jan. 28, from 5:30 – 9 p.m.  The event, which is presented by Akron General, features cuisine from area restaurants, exquisite wine and a silent auction. Funds raised support critical arthritis research, programs and services.  Tickets are $85 in advance or $95 at the door.  V.I.P. tickets are $125. Senior Moments

  • Manchester United Methodist Church, 5625 Manchester Rd., invites area seniors to gather for food and fellowship Jan. 28. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and a light lunch for $2.50 will be served at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon featured speaker patty Schwalbach whose topic is “Ohio & Erie Canal and Its Relationship to Akron.” For reservations or transportation, call the church office at 330-882-4818.
  • Monday's Pinochle begins at noon at the Springfield Township Boyd Esler Senior/Community Center, 2491 Canfield Rd. Blood pressure checks are offered Wednesday's at 3 p.m. and home cooked meals are served Monday through Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by 11 a.m. each day for the meal program.
