Van Nostran-Young and Associates in Hartville and the Lake Athletic Department have selected the “Student-Athletes of the Month” for December. Being named to receive this award are senior bowlers Kim Collins and Nathan Larkin.
Kim currently leads the varsity Blue Streaks in all major categories: High Game (209), Most 200+ Games (4), High Two-Game Series (410) and Stark County Average of 182 (3rd highest in Stark County for December). She is one of the team co-captains and helped Lake to strong finishes in two holiday tournaments in December. She also helped the team finish as runner-up in their own invitational tournament held earlier in December. She is an active member of the Lake Marching Band and Orchestra.
Nathan helped the Blue Streaks get off to their best-ever Bowling Team start (4-0) in the history of the sport at Lake. He averaged 212 for the month of December which helped catapult the team to big wins over defending Federal League champion Boardman and defending district champion Minerva. Nathan had a high series of 460 and a high game of 257 during this stretch which also included victories over Federal League rival Jackson and recent OHSAA state finalist Canton Timken. His current average and series were highs for the team.
Lake staff and administration express congratulations to both Kim and Nathan as recipients of the December “Student-Athletes of the Month” award.
